“Established in 1964, the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Red List of Threatened Species has evolved to become the world’s most comprehensive information source on the global extinction risk status of animal, fungus and plant species.”

Using databases provided by Red List Project™ (TRLP), along with information from United Plant Savers and the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, COSP has compiled a list of threatened and endangered species that are commonly used in fragrance creation and production.

This list is assessed and updated frequently, according to new data on the species listed and other fragrant botanicals.
